Before going into battle a soldier needs to prepare. To wear the proper armour and get hold of a shield and sword. The armour protects from harm as well as the sword kills the not so good guy. You also have to be fighting fit. It's the same if you battle against yourself. You need protection from dangerous illusions and also to be equipped with right knowledge and understanding.
