Music often puts things into perspective as it expresses emotion and strikes certain chords that we never knew existed. People react differently whenever they hear certain songs or beats of music. Narcissists often participate in an activity called "gaslighting". Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse in which the abuser manipulates situations repeatedly to trick the victim into distrusting his or her own memory and perceptions. It is an insidious kind of abuse and it makes victims question the very instincts they have counted on their whole lives, making them unsure of anything. Gaslighting can make it more than likely that victims will believe whatever their abusers inform them regardless regarding their very own connection with the situation.
