Background: In 1960, TELCO [now known as Tata Motors] finalized a legal contract with Daimler Benz AG of Germany for manufacturing trucks in India. Telco stood a seven-year contract with Daimler Benz. Those models were created in World War II, which trucks were robust. The real cause of bad service records was excessive overloading from the trucks. Our main roads and x-country roads were in an exceedingly bad state. Very jerky ride when it changes gears from D1 to D2, there is a delay in the transmission engaging.
