Just into the last century, furniture makers began making "woodies" as a sideline with their businesses. They would purchase a car or truck with no body, and build a physique from wood. These custom vehicles were often setup like small buses and were widely used by resorts to transport guest both to and from railroad depots. They weren?t called woodies previously. Rather, these were referred to as "depot hacks". In the horse-drawn days, a "hack" was a wagon.
The 2010 Audi R8 lineup gains a new, better model. This 2-seat exotic car has Audi's quattro all-wheel drive as well as a mid-mounted engine. The entry-level 4.2 has a 420-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 engine. New for 2010 will be the 5.2, which carries a 525-horsepower 5.2-liter V10. Both models can be obtained which has a 6-speed manual transmission or Audi's R tronic 6-speed automated manual. Available security features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, side airbags, and knee airbags. Standard features on all R8 models include leather upholstery, heated seats, and wireless cell-phone link.
