The Red Baron, whose real name was Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, was the most famous German flying ace of World War I. He had an incredibly short flying career, which spanned about 1 / 2 of World War I, and died in the age of 25 in April 1918 after being shot down over Morlancourt Ridge, at the Somme.
