Access control is really a system enabling authorities to manipulate access to areas and resources in a very given physical facility or computer-based information system. Access control is, in fact, a common, everyday phenomenon. For example, a lock over a car door it's essentially a kind of access control. The PIN on the bank's ATM system is another type of access control.
