The Red Baron, whose real name was Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, was the most famous German flying ace of World War I. He had a really short flying career, which spanned just over 50 % of World War I, and died with the age of 25 in April 1918 after being shot down over Morlancourt Ridge, at the Somme.
