In 1981, car makers started assigning a unique, 17-character code to each vehicle that is built, which is often used for assorted purposes, but mostly for verifying the legitimacy of vehicles. Governments and law enforcement agencies apply it to identify stolen vehicles, and motorists demand it after they take their cars to some mechanic, plus its useful when choosing a second hand car, so that you can operate a vehicle history report. The insurance industry often uses vehicle identification numbers, too. VINs are generally engraved on aluminum plates, cast or stamped, like a bar code, or perhaps label form, plus they can be found on the car's steering column, doorjamb, driver's door, passenger side door, dashboard, as well as in a vehicle's maintenance book and title.
After world war ii, the auto alliance in Saxony was confiscated and dismantled by the former Soviet occupation forces. Since then, many of the company's senior management in Bavaria, and in Britain in 1949, gore maystadt (ingolstadt) forged an alliance of automobile co., LTD. (auto union GMBH), it inherited the tradition of old car alliance, with four serial as a symbol.
Background: In 1960, TELCO [now known as Tata Motors] finalized a legal contract with Daimler Benz AG of Germany for manufacturing trucks in India. Telco stood a seven-year contract with Daimler Benz. Those models were created in World War II, which trucks were robust. The real cause of bad service records was excessive overloading from the trucks. Our main roads and x-country roads were in an exceedingly bad state. Telco started manufacturing indigenous styles of trucks in 1980. (Please see photo A below.)
